Capsule Bio

Hyun Hee Moon turned professional in late 2003. She had success on the KLPGA tour pretty much right out of the gate, establishing herself as a top ten player on that tour in her rookie year of 2004. That year she collected five top tens including a third place finish. In 2005, she came closer to that elusive first win with two third place finishes and a fourth, but she was still not able to get over the hump.

She finally broke through in a big way in 2006. She had top ten finishes in five of her first six events that year, including her first runner up finish. But she made her biggest splash at the Hite Cup Championship, where she collected her first ever win. Shortly after that, she journeyed to America to try to qualify for the LPGA. She finished in first place at the first sectional qualifying tournament, but was only able to get conditional status on tour at Q-School finals. Nonetheless, she finished in the top five on the KLPGA money list, her best season to date.

Honey does not particularly want to play in the States, and so in 2007, she focused on the KLPGA. She did play in two LPGA events, but it seems her money earned at those events was unofficial, which probably means she qualified for them by means other than her LPGA standing. The first event was the Evian Masters, where she missed the cut. The second was the lone LPGA event in Korea, the Kolon-Hana Bank Championship. She played quite well there, notching her first career LPGA top five.

Hyun Hee did not maintain status on the LPGA tour for 2008 and played on the KLPGA tour thereafter. In 2009, she had a weaker than normal season on that tour, finishing 24th on the money list with three top tens during the year.

Moon had a pretty good 2010 on the KLPGA tour. She finished 10th on the money list with three second place finishes during the year. Perhaps her best result was her second place at the Doosan Match Play, where she lost to the champion Jung Min Lee in the finals.

Moon finished slightly lower on the KLPGA money list in 2011 than in 2010, but made up for it by winning a tournament. Her victory came at the LIG Classic in August. She had three other top ten finishes in 2011 and finished 14th on the money list.

Moon was down in 2012. Her best result was a distant runner-up finish behind amateur sensation Hyo Joo Kim at the LotteMart Women's Open in April. She had only one other top ten all year, a 7th, and finished 22nd on the money list.

Moon struggled far more in 2013. She didn't even make a top ten all year, with a 14th being her best finish. She ended up 63rd on the money list with about 46 million won earned. 2014 was about the same for her. She finished 78th on the money list, earning about 37 million won that year. Her best finish was a 12th at the year's final event.

Hyun Hee played in the Korean minor leagues in 2015. She did well enough there to return to the big tour in 2016. That year, she finished 96th on the money list with a little more than 38 million won earned. Her best finish was a 28th place.

Moon has not played on the KLPGA since 2016 and may have retired.
