Capsule Bio

Jiwon Jeon grew up in Australia. She attended Daytona State College in Florida from 2016 - 2018 before transferring to the University of Alabama in 2018, her junior year. Among her notable amateur achievements was finishing runner-up to Kristen Gillman at the 2018 US Women's Amateur. She got up to as high as third in the world rankings in amateur women's golf.

Jeon turned pro in the Fall of 2019, entered Q-Series, and won an LPGA tour card by finishing tied for 16th.

Jeon's rookie year of 2020 was rocked with the effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic, which saw many events canceled or postponed on the LPGA tour. She managed to play 7 events, making three cuts. Her best finish was a tie for 34th at the Marathon Classic. She earned just a shade under $20,000 for the year, 129th on the money list. Fortunately, due to the pandemic, the LPGA determined that players would keep their cards for two years, so she has another season to try to maintain status.

Jeon's second year on tour was pretty similar to her first, just a little worse. But she also struggled with an injury, and a medical deferment allowed her to maintain her status for 2022. She barely made any money that year, only playing six events and making just two cuts. She returned to the Epson Tour for 2023, but finished in the top ten on that tour to earn a category 9 status for the LPGA in 2024.
