Capsule Bio

Jimin Jeong started playing golf at the age of 13. Among her biggest accomplishments as an amateur was winning the 2002 Korean Junior Championship and the 2003 Korea College Championship. She was a member of the Korean National team in 2003.

Jeong turned pro in late 2004, and moved to America to compete on the Futures Tour. She played on that tour from 2005-2007, winning two events in 2006 and one in 2007.

She kept trying to qualify for the LPGA and finally gained conditional status in her third try in 2007. In 2008, Jeong played a few LPGA events; by far her best finish came at the year's second Major, the LPGA Championship, where she captured her first top ten of her career, a tie for tenth. She did not make enough money in 2008, however, to secure exempt status for the following season.

She improved somewhat in 2009, making roughly the same amount of money as 2008. But she was able to finish in the top 100 on the money list, and so secured better status for 2010.

In 2010, she made just $22,000 all year. However, she went back to Q-School and finished solo third there to easily recapture full membership for 2011. Jeong played 9 events on tour in 2011, but only made one cut. She returned to Q-School, but missed the cut and lost all LPGA playing privileges for 2012.

Jeong also played a number of times on the KLPGA tour in 2011. She finished 64th on the money list with one top ten, a tie for 6th at the Hanwha Classic. Starting in 2012, she played on the Dream Tour, the KLPGA's developmental tour. But in 2015 she returned to the regular KLPGA tour and played a bunch of events there. Alas, she was not able to maintain her tour card for 2016, finishing only 119th on the money list.

Jeong played on minor league tours in Korea starting in 2017. She didn't play at all in 2019 and may have retired.
