In 2006, she had her best finish yet on the KLPGA, a sixth place at a KB Star tour event. Late that year, she played in the LPGA's qualifying school and finished tied for 53rd, good for a non-exempt card on the LPGA for 2007.

Kim only played four events on the LPGA tour in 2007, finishing no higher than 50th, so it was back to Q-School at the end of the year. Amazingly, she played brilliantly there, eventually finishing in second place to easily secure her tour card for 2008.

Alas, her first full exempt season on tour was not a good one. Although she made much more money in 2008 than 2007, she still did not make enough money to maintain any LPGA status for 2009.

In 2009, Kim played on the Futures Tour, where she finished 62nd on the money list. She return to the KLPGA in 2010, but only finished 88th on the money list.

Kim returned to Korea in 2011 to play on the KLPGA's developmental Dream Tour. She won a tournament there in July and had several other top tens as well. She played a lot of events on the KLPGA in 2012, but missed more cuts than she made and didn't do better than 33rd in any event. By the end of the season she was playing mini tour events again, and continued to do so throughout 2013.

In 2014, Kim did play on the KLPGA, finishing 75th on the money list with about 38 million won earned. Her best finishes were a pair of 18th places. In 2015, she only finished 104th on the money list with just 19 million won earned. Her best finish was a 22nd place.

Kim has played on the Dream Tour since 2016. It's possible that she has retired.
