Capsule Bio

Hyo Ju You turned pro in 2015 and gained KLPGA membership in 2017. In her first year, she made 116 million won and finished 54th on the money list. By far her best result was a third place at the KB Star Championship. However, she lost her card in 2018 after finishing 91st on the money list. She was on the Dream Tour the next couple of years, but made it back to the KLPGA in 2021.

Hyo Ju earned 101 million won in 2021, 68th on the money list. She had to go back to qualifying school, but once again got through that and earned full membership on the KLPGA in 2022.

2022 was her breakthrough year. She finished 31st on the money list, earning 275 million won. The total largely came courtesy of a surprise win she had at the WEMIX Championship. The final round turned into a free for all, with big names like Hee Jeong Lim, Hyun Kyung Park, Yewon Lee and Han Sol Ji all within reach of the win but not able to get the job done. In the end, three players who had never won had the best chance: Hyo Ju, Carrie Park and Woo Jeong Kim. Carrie couldn't make any putts, and Kim made crucial mistakes at the wrong time, allowing You to get the win. Her next best finish all year was a 12th.

With her looks and keen fashion sense, Hyo Ju quickly became one of the most popular players on tour. She was even asked to give the speech at the KLPGA Awards Show for all the first time winners on tour.

Hyo Ju struggled in 2023, making just 89 million won. Her best finish was a tie for 21st. She missed 17 cuts. But thanks to her win, she still has a card for 2024, and her popularity meant she was chosen again to be one of the tour's promotional models.
