The Scoop:
Se Ri burst out of the gate with a 65, putting her three shots behind Carin Koch, who shot a course record 62. Koch continued her great play with a 67 on Friday, while Se Ri struggled to a 70, although she recovered nicely from two opening bogeys. Se Ri picked it up again on Saturday with a 67 to move to within three shots of Koch. With Annika Sorenstam right behind her riding a three tournament win streak, Se Ri managed an early eagle but otherwise not much until the 14th hole. Still just one shot out of the lead, she turned up the heat, birdieing the next four holes to roar from one back to three ahead. She slammed the door shut with a final par and one of her most impressive come from behind victories ever, breaking her own tournament record in the process, and grabbing the second successful title defense of her career.
